Developing the Digital Skills of Public-School Educators in Kenya

Otieno Project 1 min read

With ESTDEV and Mondo, we launched a Digital Skills for Educators project to equip western-Kenya teachers for the competency-based curriculum.

Kenya is transitioning to a competency-based curriculum that emphasises the need for teachers to master and effectively use new technologies — essential for preparing students to enter the modern labour market, and a sign of the growing importance of digital skills in the education system.

CIVS Kenya, with the support of ESTDEV and Mondo, held a one-day stakeholders' conference in Kisumu to prepare for the Digital Skills for Educators project.

The project addresses challenges faced by educators by developing their digital skills through relevant training programs aligned with the national education system. It also helps improve access to high-quality digital learning materials, supporting both teachers and, through them, their students.
